  • What is group consignment and what is the difference between group and individual consignment?
Group consignment is an event that we help prepare for you. It can take place in a home, coffee store or a company's premises. The event objective is to help you and your friends/colleagues raise money for great charities, connect with each other and have a good time. In group consignment, IDoGood has multiple contracts with consignors who typically have a small number of items.
  • How much will it cost to host an event?
There is very little investment needed to host an event. Events can be hosted in someone's’ home, community centre, cafe or company's reception / premises. Use your network and creativity or let us help you come up with ideas that fit your vision and budget. Send us a message and let’s continue the conversation.

  • Is there a minimum requirement for the size of event or money raised?

There is no minimum number required for guests attending or amount of money raised to host an event. Whether it’s a small group of your closest friends over coffee or a larger initiative with your colleagues at work, groups and contributions of all sizes fit into our model.


  • Do I need permission from my charity?

No. You’re simply hosting a private event and having conversations about causes. IDoGood works directly with your charities of choice on behalf of the consignors to submit donations and issue tax receipts inline with items sold.

 

  • How many charities can I support?

You can split funds raised through the sale of an item. That said, a maximum of two charities can be supported per item.


  • Is a tax receipt issued to the group, organization or individuals?

Tax receipts are issued on an individual basis. Organisations can also participate and match the amount raised by the individuals if they so wish. 


  • Does IDoGood need to be at my event?

No. Our team onsite can help manage guests, vendors and add value by being able to evaluate and collect items on-site. However, it is not a requirement. Send us an email or instant message to learn more about the benefits of having our team at your event.


  • Can I host an event at my company with my colleagues?

  • How can I promote my event through social media?

  • I don’t have time to create marketing material for the event. Can IDoGood help me with that?

We’ve created a toolbox to help you start promoting your event as quickly and easily as possible. Our templates include invites, social media posts, blog posts and our team can help you create and optimize your event page and help with setting up your RSVP tool and list.
